CMK WELCOMES FOUR TOP LAW SCHOOL STUDENTS AS SUMMER ASSOCIATES

Expanding Basking Ridge-Based Law Firm Focuses on Insurance Coverage, Construction and Surety, and Insurance Defense

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., June 26, 2008 – Summer’s here and for four top law school students that means experiencing the life of an attorney first-hand at Basking Ridge, N.J.-based Carroll McNulty & Kull LLC (CMK). The students include Ireneo M. Bartolome and Patrick J. Reilly III of Jersey City, Thomas A. Jambor of Clifton, and Frank M. Falcone of Nutley, who recently started the ten-week summer associate program of this full-service law firm.

“Our program provides summer associates with a real sense of the work we do here by enabling them to play a valuable role in the process,” said Heather Simpson, an associate with the firm who is heading up this year’s summer program with fellow associate Eileen Garrity. “During their tenure with us, they will participate in drafting pleadings, briefs, and opinion letters, and they will attend client meetings, depositions, and various court proceedings.”

Bartolome and Jambor currently attend Rutgers School of Law-Newark while Reilly and Falcone are studying at Seton Hall University School of Law. Each is paired with a mentor – a senior associate – who works closely with him throughout the program, answering questions and providing feedback on a continual basis.

In 1997, Christopher Carroll, Joseph McNulty and Gary Kull founded CMK, which now includes 38 attorneys and has a number of prominent corporations as clients. On the heels of CMK’s tenth year in business, the firm is expanding both its New Jersey headquarters and its New York office. CMK’s core practice areas are insurance coverage, construction and surety, insurance defense, commercial disputes and business counseling, and employment. The firm’s clients include a range of Fortune 100 companies, insurers and construction companies as well as closely-held corporations, family-owned businesses and individuals.

“Working with summer associates is a vital component of our recruiting and growth strategies,” explained Kull, CMK’s Managing Member. “This fall, we are adding six first-year associates, three of whom were summer associates with us last year.”

All Four Students Combine Smarts and Commitment to Law

Each of CMK’s summer associates has achieved academic distinction and proven his commitment to the practice of law. Bartolome currently attends Rutgers School of Law-Newark and will graduate in May of 2009. He is the editor of the Rutgers Law Review and received a 2007 Charles Revson Law Student Public Interest Fellowship. Bartolome earned his bachelor of arts degree with distinction from the University of Washington in Seattle. Previously, Bartolome was a judicial extern for the Honorable Susan Wigenton, United States District Court, District of New Jersey.

“Since day one of the program, I have been impressed by the firm’s supportive environment and open-door policy,” said Bartolome. “The practical, hands-on experience I am receiving at CMK is giving me an invaluable perspective on what it takes to get to the top of the legal profession.”

Like Bartolome, Jambor just completed his second-year at Rutgers School of Law-Newark. He is the editor-in-chief of the Rutgers Conflict Resolution Law Journal. Jambor graduated magna cum laude from Drew University in 2006 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. Jambor served as a law clerk at Quinn & Tandly, Attorneys at Law in River Edge and as a clerk for Ann Crawshaw Coquin, Esq., of Morristown.

Reilly currently attends Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was in the 2007 Eugene Gressman Moot Court Competition. He will graduate in May of 2009. Reilly graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hall University with a bachelor of arts degree in economics and political science in May 2006. Previously, he was a law clerk at Garrity, Graham, Murphy, Garofalo & Flinn, P.C. of Montclair and served as an intern in the office of Senator Jon S. Corzine.

Falcone is also studying at Seton Hall University School of Law and will receive his juris doctor in May of 2010. Falcone graduated cum laude from Lehigh University with his bachelor of arts degree in political science in December 2006. At Lehigh, he was a member of Delta Phi and the Order of Omega. Falcone has served as a legal intern in the Law Office of Francis J. Costenbader of Nutley, N.J. and Haber, Corriere & Backenstoe of Bethlehem, Pa.

Since its founding, CMK has represented a number of the world's largest insurance companies, litigating hundreds of insurance coverage disputes in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels as well as in arbitration and mediation proceedings. In addition, the firm is often appointed defense counsel for insurance companies.
