Carlos Del Carpio

A relative newcomer to CMK with a 25-year track record, Carlos now represents a variety of businesses in commercial disputes. He primarily counsels and represents insurance companies in coverage and extra-contractual matters involving general liability, errors and omissions, directors and officers, and first-party property.
Carlos served as Vice President, Director Claims Strategic at RiverStone Claims Management LLC for over a decade, where he evaluated, litigated, and resolved many of the most volatile and complex problems any insurance company can face.
Earlier in his career, Carlos was a partner in a Chicago based law firm, with a national practice that addressed a variety of underlying losses including groundwater, soil, air, and building contamination, damage to tangible and intangible property interests, and bodily, personal and advertising injury. He was responsible for advising and representing insurers on general liability, package, errors and omissions, directors and officers, and first-party property policies. His practice included drafting insurance policies and endorsements.
A frequent lecturer on topics relating to insurance coverage and extra-contractual obligations, Carlos is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Law and holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management.
Carlos is an avid soccer fan and plans to convert his New Hampshire farm into a self-sustaining, net-zero carbon footprint dwelling.
